Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP/VAE) is a functional additive, which is mainly used in dry building mixtures, including Tile adhesive, Putty, Gypsum, Self-leveling, Skim coat, Masonry mortar, Waterproof mortar, etc.,the application of Tile adheisve is more extensive, it can greatly improve the performance of Tile adhesive, increase the bonding strength between tile adhesive and various substrates, and enhance the constructability.
When RDP and water are mixed and emulsified, it has the same property as the original emulsion, the film formation has high flexibility after the evaporation of water . The polymer in the RDP can form a network structure in the paste mortar, making the bond more firm between the adhesive mortar and the substrate . At the same time, the active ingredient in RDP can chemically react with the hydroxyl group on the surface of the substrate to form a chemical bond, further improve the bonding strength of the tile adhesive, it also can enhance the water retention of the materials, prevent the adhesive mortar from hardening、drying too quickly and and cracking, extend the opening time, enhance the plasticity of the adhesive mortar, and improve the construction workability.
